A Dallas-based company named Panda Biotech is going to enter the industrial hemp business with a facility that will process the plant and turn it into material that can be used for clothing and insulation.
It will finalize the purchase in 2020 and will begin processing that year. The facility will be 255,000 square feet in Shallowater Texas. The Texas hemp industry is expected to grow after lawmakers legalize the crop in 2019.
Bob Carter, the founder of Panda Biotech said about his product “When you can take the durability of hemp fiber and combine it with the softness of cotton, you really have a premium material,”
